To add the 'WOW' factor these artists are experimenting with light behind the mounted torsos, and will mount them in a light box framed by beautifully molded plaster cornice. Toi's whakairo (carving) work tells the story of the effect of breast cancer on a couple. The woman suffering the disease, and her male partner providing all his support and aroha to help her through the challenges of the disease. The finished piece will come with a certificate of authenticity, and the full whakapapa of the artwork Paul and Toi have created. A comment overheard from a customer who saw the pieces was "Is this truly made only of plaster? It looks incredibly beautiful!"
This BraveArt work has been donated and will be a feature piece of the collection to be auctioned in August.
