An artist's journey - Liz Ritchie shares her process while painting BraveArt celebrity Lorraine Downes.
Today Seatoun artist Liz Ritchie completed her BraveArt work on the torso of Lorraine Downes, our courageous celebrity model, former Miss Universe, and 2014 Breast Cancer Foundation Ambassador.
Liz created a signature piece in the style of her many landscape and nature paintings. It features textured detailing of tree branches representing the physiology of the breast.
The cast she painted was made in plaster directly onto Lorraine's body, and hand-crafted by master plasterer Paul Stanton in the Carrara Ceilings factory in Johnsonville.
Lorraine described the work as "stunning" and thanked Liz for creating such a beautiful piece. The BraveArt team feel extremely privileged to have both Lorraine and Liz involved.
Actor Miranda Harcourt's torso is almost completed, and this work by artist Sue Malthus will be the next celebrity BraveArt work to be revealed on July 1.
